You can also find models that clean and charge themselves This feature could be beneficial for those with pets or children. Many of the best performers in our tests have great ability to overcome obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It could get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes three hours to charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or via the app.
In our testing the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying that removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide power without fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.
vacuum robot comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments as well as a clip for a wand. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's enough time to clean a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second pass is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our tests, and often passes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways in that it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled with the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while offering a wider range of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior modification docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.
In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tested, which might be a problem for some shoppers.
The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you to check in on your children or pets when you're away. The filter and the dust bin can be cleaned to make cleanup quick and easy.
